Interbase Link in the defence sector
The problem
Military customer required a direct resilient fibre link between two of their sites, that were 17km apart. In efforts to safeguard against downtime, due to failure or damage to an existing link, we were briefed to provide a new fibre optic cable link between two high profile military sites.
The route had to be 100% diverse to the existing fibre to ensure both fibres were risk-free of damage. The route also needed to be accessible for maintenance and future projects and their development. Finally, the route also needed to avoid SSSI (Sites of Significant Scientific Interest) between the two sites.
The solution
We managed to identify routes that would meet all criteria, by identifying landowners, local authorities and government agencies who either owned or had jurisdiction over the land. Stakeholders were contacted to negotiate terms and conditions for easements. Our team liaised with highways, environmental agencies, for mandatory road closure applications. As a team, we coordinated all stakeholders to produce a program of works, taking into account various agricultural and wildlife opportunities upon completion. Our final install design consisted of 75 manholes and 17km of comms ducting between the sites. The solid fibre optic cable was installed, terminated and tested. This satisfied customer now has diverse and resilient routes to ensure continuation of their operations.

Pioneer Digital Solutions
The problem
Our team had to take critical considerations for ground types, wind speeds and size when it came to the signage Pioneer Digital Solutions Ltd. required. Since each site and the locations of boards are predominantly located on busy highway junctions and railway embankments, it makes the logistics of installing in a safe and efficient manner very challenging. Land owners, tenants, highways, network rail and other stakeholders alike gave us an outage window for installation with tight pending timelines.
The solution
Working with our team, we managed to adapt to the conditions of each site and deliver the digital upgrades on time with the highest standards in place. Pioneer Digital Solutions Ltd needed to renew 48 and 96 sheet paper advertising boards with Digital signage nationwide. Our team dismantled and disposed of existing roadside advertising boards and created a suitable and highly-customised concrete base with bolts cages to accommodate these new digital boards.
